Day 2, The Bridge, 5:00 PM
Where: The Bridge

When: 5:00 PM

Who: All hands

Despite some rough bumps in getting clearance to leave the planet, he was more than ready tog et to the next port, knowing at least two new recruits awaited them there, expecting to see them today.

For now, he just waited for his crew to show up so they could make tracks.
seren_marelacseren_marelac on August 6th, 2006 06:24 pm (UTC)
Hearing the announcement, Seren made his way up to the bridge. Talk of bathrooms and evasive answers about what to expect was getting a little dull. He was more than ready to leave this planet far behind him.
leroy_brennus on August 6th, 2006 06:35 pm (UTC)
As he walked in, Leroy pointed to a specific chair on deck.

"Seren," he said, in a familiar way. He already knew the crew's name. "Sit here. Use this computer to keep an eye on all the equipment and simply push the buttons I tell you. All good?"
seren_marelacseren_marelac on August 6th, 2006 06:41 pm (UTC)
Seren nodded. "I think I can handle that," he said, only belatedly adding "Sir" as he sat down. The monitors compressed a lot of information into a small space, but in a manner designed to make it easy to tell at a glance what - if anything - was wrong.
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 6th, 2006 09:19 pm (UTC)
Andrej was slightly put off by the fact that he wouldn't get to talk to the captain until probably much later. He was eager to launch, however, and get as far away from his earthly problems as possible. He'd challenged Noork to a race to the bridge from the mess hall, and had bolted there eagerly. "Phew! Let's get going!" He rubbed his hands together, excited, as he stepped onto the bridge.
noork_neffesnoork_neffes on August 6th, 2006 09:54 pm (UTC)
Noork looked a bit dissapointed that Andrej had beaten him in a race again, as he flicked his finger against Andrej's forehead and said "Take it easy, it's not like you have to carry the ship into space yourself. Though i share your impatience to get moving." He smiled and turned towards the captain.

"All hands on deck, i suppose, except for Mr. morningstar. he can't be far behind me. Should we wait a bit longer, or are you going to brief us on our destination and what's expected of us right away?" he shrugged.
teivel_morning on August 6th, 2006 10:12 pm (UTC)
Teivel slipped on to the bridge quietly and quickly made his way to the main station. He glanced at everyone else for a moment before he began running through his check list of things and varying that he had done everything that was need. He focused on the computer as he began running one last system check.
leroy_brennus on August 6th, 2006 10:21 pm (UTC)
"Hello, gentlemen," Leroy smiled a dazzling captain's smile. "Andrej, I want you at the communications booth. Sort out the signals from other ships from pirates to aliens to humans. If any pirates are on radar, I wanna know. If any messages come through from other ships, run them by me and patch through at my request."

The captain had become all business, sitting in the captain's chair. "Teivel, pilot's chair. Just until we find a suitable pilot or train someone."

He then swivelled around to Noork.

"You there, Quick Hands, I want you over there at the weapon's station. I doubt we'll need to blast anything, but you never know.

"All right, Seren. How do our systems look?"
seren_marelacseren_marelac on August 6th, 2006 10:52 pm (UTC)
Seren looked over the monitors. Thankfully, whoever had coded the things had used fairly standard designations.

"Everything reads green, sir," he replied.
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 7th, 2006 09:10 pm (UTC)
Andrej grimaced quickly at what he was told to do. "I hope that's one of those things you learn as you go along, because I have no idea how the hell to do that." He grumbled to himself, sliding into the chair and looking at the screens, semi-puzzled.
noork_neffesnoork_neffes on August 7th, 2006 09:30 pm (UTC)
Noork slipped into a chair next to andrej and said "Don't worry, i have no experience with this as well, all the fighting i've done was where i could actually touch the other guy."

He looked over his post and continued "It doesn't look that hard though, and i'm quick to react, and the feel of this thing looks pretty simple."

He shrugged, as if embarrased a bit, looked at Andrej and said "Anyway, i'm sure you'll do fine."
leroy_brennus on August 7th, 2006 10:12 pm (UTC)
(I'm gonna cut in in front of Teivel because I'm pretty sure she's not home atm. Let's let her respond after me though. This is mostly because my computer time is limited right now. ^^; )

"You'll do fine, Andrej," he said, "Pirate signals on the radar are red, aliens are green, human ships are yellow. If someone sends us a message, it will say so and from what ship. You just tell me who it is, and then follow my commands afterwards."

He glanced at Noork. "You seem to got it," he smirked.

"If all systems are green, we;ll be off then," the captain nodded.
teivel_morning on August 8th, 2006 12:31 am (UTC)
Teivel quickly moved over to the pilot seat, though had a small frown as he settled in. He could pilot this ship. He had to before, but it didn't mean that it wasn't harder then hell for him to do it.

Teivel quickly typed out a course that he would take once they had launched before he prepared the ship for it's launch sequence. "Ready at your command."
seren_marelacseren_marelac on August 8th, 2006 06:00 am (UTC)
Seren glanced up as the imminent takeoff was announced. This was it - his old life would be left behind. He took a deep breath, readying himself for the imagined feelings of acceleration and fixed his eyes on the monitors again, alert for any change from the reassuring green.
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 8th, 2006 04:59 pm (UTC)
Oh, okay. Andrej thought. This should be easy enough. Pirates red, human yellow, aliens green. I guess there's something to be said for little green men after all. He chuckled to himself and prepared himself mentally for launch.
noork_neffesnoork_neffes on August 8th, 2006 09:26 pm (UTC)
"Not that i enjoy being pessimistic, but just in case anything should go wrong, it was fun to be here with you all, however short it was." Noork said.

"Anyway, we're off then, i presume?" and he looked at the captain."
leroy_brennus on August 9th, 2006 12:16 am (UTC)
Leroy spared one moment to give Noork a pointed glance.

"All right, Teivel. All systems go, prepare to launch."

No one said anything.

"And, go."

He smirked.
teivel_morning on August 9th, 2006 05:22 am (UTC)
Teivel punched the launch key and montiored the screen very carefully as the ship slowly began to move up and out of the dock. Oh how Teivel hated lift offs. He braced himself and began typing in the next command sequence as he watched the main montior. He could see the dock slowly fading away as the continued up and up... faster and faster as they aimed to break orbit.
seren_marelacseren_marelac on August 9th, 2006 02:43 pm (UTC)
The sensation of takeoff was nothing like anything Seren had felt before - even going up in the fastest hoverlift didn't push him so hard towards the floor. His eyes flicked from the monitors to the main viewscreen and back, wide with excitement.
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 9th, 2006 06:28 pm (UTC)
"Good God..."Andrej whispered through gritted teeth. He'd presumed that it would be a strange feeling since he'd never left the atmosphere before, but he hadn't expected it to be so... shocking. Knuckles clenched and white around the arms of his chair, he did his best not to look anxious. "...Is it over?"
leroy_brennus on August 9th, 2006 10:25 pm (UTC)
(stealing Xos's spot on account of low internet access. Just reply after me, okay Xos? Thanks. <3)

Leroy sauntered over from his high backed leather captain's chair, leaning over Teivel's shoulder to check their flight plan, ruffling his hair absently as he did, then turned to Andrej.

"It's over," he said just as they flipflopped from gravity into weightlessness. The ship immediately opted to provide gravity for them, making it feel like they'd never left.

He walked over to Andrej and leaned over until their faces were less than an inch away.

"Did the take-off frighten you?"
noork_neffesnoork_neffes on August 11th, 2006 09:32 pm (UTC)
Noork grinned wide, "That was interesting."

he looked over his consoles and turned over to Andrej, "Anything over there ? is there other traffic ?"
leroy_brennus on August 12th, 2006 11:28 pm (UTC)
(Um... Teivel/Amanda is on vacation and may be having issues getting on a computer, so for now, let's skip over her. Which would mean... who? Seren, is next?)
seren_marelacseren_marelac on August 13th, 2006 06:09 am (UTC)
Seren managed to tear his eyes away from the magnificent starfield on the viewscreen to re-check the instruments. Thankfully, things were still in the green.

"That was just beyond!" he crowed, laughing. "Better'n the simulators down at the midway!"
teivel_morning on August 14th, 2006 03:55 am (UTC)
((I'm going to assume no one would mind me popping in out of place... I hope. ^^; ))

Teivel was tense from the take-off. He quickly started to check everything but paused when the captain patted his head. It seemed he relaxed as he continued to type in his response... until he started to scowl when the captain started to flirt with Andrej. Stupid perverted captain.

He glanced over at Seren when he made his loud comment. He found himself smiling just a little.
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 14th, 2006 09:26 pm (UTC)
Andrej cleared his throat, attempting to remain as professional as possible. "To be honest it did. I've never even been on a real starship before. Although, I'm sure it will be easier to deal with once I've gone through a few more take-offs. What's landing like, just so I know?"
noork_neffesnoork_neffes on August 15th, 2006 09:32 pm (UTC)
Noork looked at the captain with a bit of an "i-knew-it" look, grinned, and looked back at his console.

(i have nothing better to say xDDD;;)
leroy_brennus on August 16th, 2006 07:02 pm (UTC)
Leroy caught some sort of look that he didn't quite understand from Noork, but shrugged it off.

Instead, he continued to advance on Andrej. "Well, next time, if you get scared, I'd be perfectly happy to sedate you any way I can before take off," Leroy smirked and touched Andrej's chin, lifting his head up, bending in as if to kiss him...
seren_marelacseren_marelac on August 17th, 2006 02:44 pm (UTC)
(I'm assuming Teivel is still on vacation...)

Seren caught the captain's movement out of the corner of his eye, and turned in time to see Leroy looking deep into Andrej's eyes. After his earlier encounter with Teivel, this gave him a strange feeling - almost like the feeling he'd had before take-off. What was going to happen?
teivel_morning on August 18th, 2006 12:08 am (UTC)
(I just got back from vacation... but I'll just continue to go after you Seren)

Teivel watched the captain with a none-too-pleased expression. Stupid perverted captain that only thought about bedding people and his ship, never mind Teivel kept everything running... Teivel pressed the last key harder then nessecary to intiate the auto-pilot.

"I guess I should go check the inventory to make sure nothing got knocked over in the take-off" He sounded grouchy as he stood up, though he paused to wait on a response from the captain.
noork_neffesnoork_neffes on August 18th, 2006 12:11 pm (UTC)
(OOC: i'm out for vacation.. 2 weeks in the middle of nowhere. so continue without me till then :D )
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 18th, 2006 10:10 pm (UTC)
"...Sedate me?" Andrej asked, one eyebrow raised. "But don't you need me to run communications? It seems a little extreme, to me..." He didn't get it. What was Leroy referring to?
leroy_brennus on August 20th, 2006 12:35 am (UTC)
Leroy smiled.

"I could explain it but it would be sooo much easier to show you..."

He paused as Teivel spoke to him. "Inventory is tied down, Teivel," Leroy said, suddenly seeming to forget he was hitting on Andrej.

If something was wrong with Teivel, it tended to require his attention.

"Well, it might not hurt to check," Leroy smiled brightly and tilted his head. "I appreciate your work, Teivel."

He then promptly turned back to Andrej with a smile, awaiting his response to his earlier comment.
seren_marelacseren_marelac on August 25th, 2006 04:12 pm (UTC)
Feeling distinctly like a third wheel, Seren stood up from his seat.

"Ah - unless these gauges need to be monitored in-flight, I'm gonna head back to my room..."

(Going to be offline for the next week, back on the 2nd or 3rd)
teivel_morning on August 25th, 2006 06:49 pm (UTC)
Teivel felt a little less angry at the Captain when he spoke, but didn't mean he was completely happy when he turned back to Andrej. Well, he'd just go do his own work and leave them be.

"I'm sure it'll be fine Seren. There's an alert system if anything serious goes haywire." He commented as he made his own way off the bridge. "I'm off to go check things." With that he slipped out to the hall.
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 26th, 2006 04:14 am (UTC)
"...Show me? I don't really handle tranquilizers well. My heart starts racing... Rarely, it triggers violent twitching." He looked away, embarrassed.
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 26th, 2006 04:20 am (UTC)
[creator's note: Andrej is terrible at recognizing innuendo, and not good with symbolism either.]
leroy_brennus on August 26th, 2006 05:14 am (UTC)
Leroy sighed, realizing subtle was not the way to go and finally just met lip to lip with Andrej, but expecting anything from a passionate return to a violent attempt at escape.
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 26th, 2006 06:07 am (UTC)
Andrej was too shocked to do anything at first. He began to blush brightly, looking like a sunburnt tourist baking on the beach. His face grew hot with his embarrassment. Still sitting with his hands on the arm rests, his knuckles clenched tightly. What the hell?! he thought frantically, but not particularly moving away other than to press his body against the chair as much as possible.
leroy_brennus on August 26th, 2006 09:30 pm (UTC)
Leroy smiled and pulled away. "Well then, we shoud be landing shorty."

With that, he skipped off without so much as a follow up or an explanation.
andrej_milholanandrej_milholan on August 28th, 2006 08:32 pm (UTC)
Andrej heaved a deep sigh. As much as he wanted to leave, he figured that since he was the only one on the bridge he should stay there in case anything happened. He sighed again before turning his chair to the communications computer terminal, one hand wrapped loosely around his his lower face and mouth. He couldn't decide if he wanted to wipe his lips off furiously or never wash them again.
